Long haul truck driver Canada (3 Vacancies)

 

We are seeking three dedicated, safety-conscious, and professional AZ-class licensed truck drivers to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive wage and the opportunity to be part of an operation that values reliability and excellence. This role is physically demanding and requires a high level of responsibility, but it is also rewarding. You will be operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods across various routes, including international trips. We are proud to note that this position is classified as a “green job,” as it involves practices and responsibilities that contribute to positive environmental outcomes and support Canada’s net-zero targets.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be entrusted with a wide range of duties essential to our logistics chain:

  • Vehicle Operation & Safety: Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. This includes demonstrating mountain driving expertise and driving as part of a two-person team or convoy when required.

  • Pre-Trip & Maintenance: Perform detailed pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to oversee all aspects of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment. You will also be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and minor emergency roadside repairs, including brake adjustments.

  • Cargo Management: Expertly load and unload goods, ensuring the safety and security of the cargo through proper tarping and handling techniques. This includes the specialized transport and handling of dangerous goods, for which all necessary training will be provided.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Meticulously record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption. You will be responsible for obtaining special permits and documents required for international routes and ensuring full compliance with all regulations.

  • Customer Service & Communication: Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all customer interactions, addressing any complaints or concerns effectively. You will also be required to receive and relay critical information to central dispatch and handle financial transactions, including paying and receiving payments for goods.

  • Team Collaboration: As a valued team member, you may be called upon to coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques, fostering a collaborative and skilled work environment. You will also arrange travel-related itineraries and make reservations as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Credentials:

  • A valid AZ class driver’s license is mandatory.

Education & Experience:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

  • While we welcome applications from newer drivers, relevant experience is an asset. We are committed to training the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
