Your Mission: Key Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Leadership
As the Restaurant Manager, you will be the driving force behind the restaurant’s daily success and long-term reputation. Your role is multifaceted, blending operational expertise with inspirational leadership.
Team Leadership & Development:
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-energy team culture where every member feels valued and motivated to do their best work.
Lead from the front, providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and structured training to develop your team’s skills in customer service, food preparation, and operational procedures.
Manage all aspects of team performance, including rostering to meet operational needs, conducting performance reviews, and nurturing future leaders from within your team.
Operational Excellence & Financial Management:
Take full ownership of the restaurant’s daily operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and profitable service from open to close.
Implement and maintain rigorous standards for food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness, ensuring 100% compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Manage key financial responsibilities with precision, including daily cash handling, bank reconciliations, stock control, and inventory management to minimise waste and optimise costs.
Analyse sales reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, capitalise on opportunities, and develop strategies to drive revenue and meet budgeted targets for labour and cost of goods.
Customer Experience & Community Engagement:
Champion an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, ensuring every guest receives the warm, friendly, and efficient service that defines our brand.
Proactively handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally, turning challenging situations into opportunities to build loyalty.
Act as the public face of the restaurant in the Mount Isa community, seeking opportunities to build local partnerships and enhance our presence.
The Ideal Candidate: Do You Have What It Takes?
We are looking for a proven leader who combines operational skill with a genuine passion for people.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years of solid management experience within the fast-paced hospitality or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector.
Demonstrated financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and understanding P&L statements.
Comprehensive, practical knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards and their implementation.
Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of motivating, training, and retaining a diverse team.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think clearly and act decisively under pressure.
The flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
A positive, can-do attitude, resilience, and a deep-seated passion for delivering exceptional service.
Highly Desirable Attributes:
A formal qualification in Hospitality Management (such as a Cert IV or Diploma) is highly regarded.
Previous experience in a regional or remote location, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
