Position Overview
As a Data Verification Specialist, you will be the backbone of our platform's integrity. You will be responsible for hunting down international job openings, auditing companies to ensure they offer legitimate visa sponsorship, and extracting direct, unadvertised contact information (emails, phone numbers, and hiring managers) for our premium members.
If you love OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) investigations, have a sharp eye for spotting scams, and take pride in organizing flawless data, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Gathering & Market Research
- Proactively research international labour markets (specifically Canada, Europe, UK, Australia, and the Middle East).
- Identify companies in high-demand sectors—such as agriculture, skilled trades, healthcare, and technology—that actively hire international workers.
- Monitor government registries, official sponsor license lists, and trusted corporate databases to find newly approved visa-sponsoring employers.
2. Rigorous Verification & Vetting
- Audit job listings and employers to filter out scams, third-party recruiters with hidden fees, or misleading postings.
- Verify that listed entities possess valid, active government permissions to sponsor foreign workers.
- Perform deep-dive checks on company websites, registry entries, and professional networks to confirm the business is operational and reputable.
3. Lead Enrichment & Contact Extraction
- Go beyond basic job descriptions to find direct contact details for hiring managers, HR departments, or business owners.
- Utilise advanced search techniques, professional networks, and verification tools to ensure extracted email addresses and phone numbers are active and accurate.
- Accurately format and input this data into our content management system (CMS) or database, ensuring it is instantly ready for our premium users.
4. Quality Control & Database Maintenance
- Regularly audit existing database entries to update expired listings, fix broken links, and remove filled positions.
- Collaborate with the technical team to report any data ingestion or indexing issues.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in market research, data verification, recruitment sourcing, lead generation, or a highly analytical data-entry role.
- Technical Savvy: High proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs), Excel, and advanced web search techniques (Boolean search strings). Experience with web scraping tools or CMS platforms (like WordPress) is a strong plus.
- The "Detective" Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail. You notice a mismatched domain name or an inconsistent corporate address from a mile away.
- Resourcefulness: Proven ability to find hard-to-reach contact information ethically using open-source intelligence (OSINT), LinkedIn, and specialized directories.
- Communication: Strong written English skills. You must document verification notes clearly and communicate smoothly with a remote team.
- Environment: A reliable, high-speed internet connection and a laptop/computer capable of handling heavy research workflows.
