We don't just scrape data — we curate truth at scale. To do that, we are building an automated research pipeline powered by Python. We are looking for a technically strong, meticulous, relentless Global Data Researcher & Employer Verification Specialist to build and run that pipeline.

Position Overview

This is a technical research role, not a manual data‑entry job. You will be responsible for writing and maintaining Python scripts that find every piece of publicly indexed information available on employers worldwide, cross‑referencing each company against official visa sponsor registries to determine whether they can genuinely sponsor foreign workers, and validating hiring manager phone numbers on WhatsApp so our premium members never waste time on dead contacts.

You are essentially building and running a verification engine: collect, cross‑reference, validate, deduplicate, and hand over clean, trustworthy, actionable data to our members. If you love Python, OSINT investigations, and turning messy public data into a clean structured database, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Python Scripting & Automated Data Collection

• Write, maintain and improve Python scripts that crawl and index publicly available employer information across job boards, government registries, corporate websites, LinkedIn, trade directories and industry databases.
• Build reliable scrapers and parsers using requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium or Playwright, pandas and regex, with proper error handling, retries, logging and rate limiting.
• Design and maintain the data pipeline: raw collection → cleaning → deduplication → normalisation → enrichment → final structured output (CSV, JSON, SQL or Airtable/Sheets).
• Scrape responsibly: respect robots.txt, rate limits and terms of service, and use only publicly indexed information. No hacking, no bypassing paywalls, no unauthorised access.
• Automate recurring research tasks so coverage scales without a proportional increase in manual hours.

2. Employer Cross‑Referencing & Visa Sponsorship Verification

• Cross‑reference every employer against official government sponsor licence registries and reputable corporate databases across our target regions (UK, Canada, EU/Germany, Gulf states, Australia, New Zealand).
• Build scripted logic that automatically flags whether a company currently holds the right to sponsor foreign workers, and records the source and date of that verification.
• Produce a confidence score for each employer, from "confirmed active sponsor with registry entry" down to "unverified — do not publish".
• Detect and flag red flags: mismatched domains, duplicated company names across unrelated addresses, shell company patterns, third‑party recruiters charging hidden fees, and known scam signatures.
• Keep verification records auditable — every claim must trace back to an official source.

3. WhatsApp Number Validation

• For every extracted hiring manager, HR or business owner phone number, verify whether that number is active on WhatsApp before it reaches our premium members.
• Use the WhatsApp Business API, wa.me link checks, or scripted validation methods to confirm WhatsApp availability in bulk and at scale.
• Record validation status (active / not on WhatsApp / invalid / unreachable) alongside each contact in the database.
• Flag numbers that are WhatsApp‑enabled with a business profile, since these are the highest‑value contacts for our members.
• Maintain a validation log so contacts can be re‑checked periodically — numbers change, and stale contacts destroy member trust.
• Stay strictly within ethical and platform‑compliant validation methods. No spamming, no unsolicited mass messaging, no number harvesting without a legitimate verification purpose.

4. Lead Enrichment & Contact Extraction

• Go beyond basic job descriptions to find direct contact details for hiring managers, HR departments and business owners.
• Use OSINT, advanced Boolean search, LinkedIn, corporate registries and verification tools to confirm emails and phone numbers are active and accurate.
• Format and load enriched data into our CMS or database, ready for immediate use by our premium members.

5. Quality Control & Database Maintenance

• Schedule recurring re‑runs of your scripts to refresh expired listings, fix broken links, remove filled positions and re‑validate contacts.
• Audit existing database entries for accuracy and consistency, and clean up duplicates.
• Collaborate with the technical team to report data ingestion, indexing or CMS issues.

6. Documentation, Handover & Collaboration

• Document every script, pipeline and verification method so the work is reproducible and maintainable by others.
• Provide a daily handover summary to the IFMOSA Operations Manager during the shift.
• Attend the daily check‑in at the start of the Sweden‑time working window and stay reachable during the shift.
• Produce weekly reports: employers indexed, sponsors confirmed, WhatsApp numbers validated, red flags caught, pipeline issues.

Shift Structure & Working Hours

• Days: Monday to Friday.
• Working window: 10:00 – 17:00 Sweden time (CET/CEST), to align with the IFMOSA Operations Manager.
• Break: 1 hour paid lunch break within the window.
• Paid hours: 7 paid hours per day, 35 paid hours per week.
• Location: 100% remote — work from anywhere, but you must be reliably available during the Sweden‑time window.
• Time zone discipline is essential. This role only works if you are consistently online and responsive during the agreed shift window.

Compensation & Contract Terms

• Rate: $19 USD per hour.
• Paid hours: 7 paid hours per day, 35 paid hours per week (the 1‑hour daily lunch break is paid).
• Approximate weekly earnings: $665 USD (35 × $19).
• Approximate monthly earnings: roughly $2,850–$2,900 USD depending on the number of working days in the month.
• Remote: 100% remote.
• Sick allowance: None. Sick days are unpaid.
• Holiday allowance: None. There is no paid annual leave.
• Any time off is unpaid. If you do not work, you are not paid. Public holidays in your country of residence are not paid unless you work them and they fall within an agreed schedule.
• Payment: Monthly, based on hours actually worked and logged.
• You are responsible for your own equipment, internet, power backup and tax obligations in your country of residence.

If you need paid sick leave, paid annual leave, or a traditional employment contract with statutory benefits, this role is not suitable for you. We would rather be completely transparent now than waste your time later.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Python & Scripting (Core Requirement): Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on Python experience, with strong practical use of requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium or Playwright, pandas, and regex for web scraping and data processing.
• Web Scraping at Scale: Proven experience writing scripts that handle pagination, dynamic JavaScript content, anti‑bot friction, retries, logging and rate limiting — ethically and within terms of service.
• Data Pipeline Skills: Comfortable cleaning, deduplicating, normalising and structuring messy data into CSV, JSON, SQL, Google Sheets or Airtable outputs.
• WhatsApp Validation Experience: Familiarity with the WhatsApp Business API, wa.me link validation, or scripted/bulk methods for confirming whether a phone number is active on WhatsApp. You must understand the ethical and platform‑compliance boundaries of this work.
• Sponsor Registry Knowledge: Ability to locate and cross‑reference official visa sponsor licence registries and corporate databases across multiple regions (UK, Canada, EU/Germany, Gulf, Australia, New Zealand). You do not need to be an immigration expert, but you must be able to find, read and correctly interpret official sponsorship data.
• OSINT & Boolean Search: Advanced open‑source research skills for finding hard‑to‑reach contact information ethically.
• The "Detective" Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail. You notice a mismatched domain name or an inconsistent corporate address from a mile away.
• Tools: Proficient with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs), Excel, Git or version control for your scripts, and a CMS such as WordPress. Familiarity with WordPress data ingestion is a plus.
• Communication: Strong written English. You must be able to document scripts, verification notes and daily handovers clearly for a remote team.
• Reliability: Consistent attendance during the Sweden‑time shift window. This role depends on daily alignment with the Operations Manager.
• Infrastructure: A reliable laptop capable of running scraping workloads, and a stable high‑speed internet connection with power backup.
