Role: Senior data analyst 

Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure and systems for storage, processing, and analysis.

  • Build and manage efficient, scalable data pipelines for seamless data integration, transformation, and delivery.

  • Ensure reliable data ingestion into QatarEnergy’s data repositories (e.g., Digital Data Platform, Data Warehouse).

  • Enable data availability for visualization, analytics, and digital use cases across the organization.

Technical & Operational Accountability:

  • Design, build, and review data integration pipelines to support business needs.

  • Operate and optimize data workflows to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Apply data governance principles (e.g., data quality, security) across repositories.

  • Align with data governance, architecture, security policies, and overall business strategy.

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work closely with QatarEnergy business units to enforce data governance practices.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (data architects, analysts, security teams) to ensure compliant and efficient data solutions.

  • Continuously improve data pipelines and systems based on evolving business requirements.

Requirement: 

  • 8+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas, with a strong understanding of Upstream & Downstream data requirements.

  • 5+ years in data management, including:

    • Data integration, modeling, optimization, and quality.

    • Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

Technical Expertise:

  • Apache stack: Kafka, Airflow, Spark (for scalable data pipelines).

  • Data platforms & concepts:

    • Data discovery, visualization, warehousing, governance (datalogging, profiling, stewardship, quality).

    • Database technologies: SQL & NoSQL.

  • Microsoft Azure cloud services:

    • Hands-on experience with ADLS, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Databricks.

  • ETL, APIs, algorithms, data structures, and BI tools (Power BI).

  • Programming & data science tools:

    • Strong in Python, Java, or C/C++.

    • Proficient in SQL, R, SAS, or Excel.

  • Security & architecture awareness: Knowledge of application architecture & information security principles.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.
