Farm worker About the Role:

In this hands-on role, as a farm worker you will be at the heart of our daily operations, ensuring the health and well-being of our flock and the quality of our produce. Your days will be varied and physically active, centred on the care of our chickens and the efficient collection of eggs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Poultry Care & Management: Daily feeding and watering of our free-range flock. Monitoring bird health and behaviour, and reporting any concerns to the Farm Manager. Assisting with maintaining a clean and safe environment in the sheds and surrounding ranges.

  • Egg Collection & Handling: Manual and automated collection of eggs from the nesting systems. Carefully sorting, grading, and packing eggs for dispatch according to strict quality and food safety standards.

  • Farm Maintenance: General duties to keep the farm running smoothly, including cleaning and sanitising sheds and equipment, maintaining fences and gates, and basic property upkeep.

  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively as part of a small team, communicating clearly, and supporting your colleagues to achieve daily targets.

Who We Are Looking For:

We value attitude and reliability as much as experience. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Excellent physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks.

  • A keen eye for detail, especially when monitoring animal health and grading produce.

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • A willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays on a rostered basis, as animals require 7-day-a-week care.

  • A commitment to following workplace health and safety procedures.

While not essential, previous experience in farming, livestock handling, or a similar physically demanding role would be highly regarded. Most importantly, you must have a genuine respect for animals and a passion for working in agriculture.

What We Offer:

This is more than just a job; it’s a lifestyle. In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer:

  • A Competitive Wage: A full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary commensurate with your experience, paid in accordance with the relevant Australian Award.

  • Potential Accommodation: For the right candidate, we may be able to assist with affordable on-farm or local accommodation, helping you to settle into the beautiful Regional Victoria community.

  • Comprehensive Training: No prior poultry experience? Don’t worry. We provide full, paid training to ensure you are confident and skilled in all aspects of the role.

  • A Supportive Environment: Join a friendly, family-oriented team where your contribution is valued and respected.

  • A Meaningful Career: Gain invaluable skills and experience in a crucial primary industry, with the satisfaction of seeing the direct results of your labour.
