Role: Demi Chef

Duties:

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.

  • Regulate cooking equipment (ovens, broilers, grills, roasters) for optimal temperatures.

  • Thaw frozen food properly by transferring from freezer to refrigerator in advance.

  • Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of dishes.

  • Maintain food logs for tracking inventory and compliance.

  • Monitor food quality and quantity to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

  • Prepare cold foods (salads, desserts, appetizers) as needed.

Communication & Coordination

  • Notify Chef of excess food for use in daily specials.

  • Inform F&B staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items.

  • Request assistance during peak service times.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff.

  • Counsel, discipline, motivate, and coach employees; act as a role model.

  • Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow company safety and security policies; report hazards or incidents.

  • Complete required safety training and certifications.

  • Maintain clean and professional uniform/appearance.

  • Protect company assets and uphold confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

  • Bend, twist, stoop, reach overhead/below knees.

  • Lift/move objects up to 25 lbs without assistance.

Additional Duties

  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure high service standards.

  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
