We are seeking dedicated, reliable Stonemasons to join our growing team. The individual may apply for Full Time, Part Time, or Flexible hours.
Role Overview
To ensure success as a stonemason, you should have excellent craftsmanship skills, a good eye for detail, and the strength to work on construction sites. A skilled stonemason should be able to visualize the final stone structure before the first cut is made and design the work accordingly.
Responsibilities
Reading and interpreting blueprints.
Determining the materials and equipment needed for the project.
Perform with a high level of quality craftsmanship – polishing, cutting out, and installing stone products such as benchtops, vanities, and steps.
Mixing grout and cement.
Cutting and shaping stones to desired dimensions.
Laying stones according to construction plans or project specifications.
Operating cranes, hoists, or heavy machinery to move stones (preferred but not required).
Smoothing and polishing stones and concrete.
Replacing defective or missing stones on walls and structures.
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years working as a Stonemason, particularly with granite and marble.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
Ability to visualize and implement aesthetic patterns into a construction design.
Familiarity with stone cutting, shaping, and binding tools.
Physically strong and able to manipulate heavy objects.
Ability to work outdoors and in noisy areas for extended periods.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Attention to detail.
Well presented and punctual.
Proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment.
