Job overview

NOVA is hiring English Instructors to teach private and small‑group lessons at direct‑managed schools across Japan.

This role is suitable for:

  • ✅ First‑time teachers entering ESL

  • ✅ Experienced instructors seeking a new challenge in Japan

Lessons are fully supported, with minimal preparation required and all materials provided.


Key responsibilities

  • Teach private and small‑group English lessons (face‑to‑face and online).

  • Teach learners of all ages and proficiency levels.

  • Deliver lessons using NOVA’s structured curriculum and materials.

  • Record student performance digitally at the end of each lesson.

  • Provide basic customer care and student support.

  • Participate in student recruitment and school support activities.


Working hours

  • Weekdays: 12:50 – 21:10

  • Weekends & National Holidays: 9:30 – 18:40

Evenings and weekends are the busiest teaching periods. Working hours are negotiable within these time ranges.


Salary & compensation

  • ¥1,452 – ¥1,952 per 40‑minute lesson (first year)

  • Remuneration varies based on lesson type and number of students

  • Contract completion incentive: up to ¥50 per lesson

  • Monthly Top 100 Instructor Incentives

  • Skill allowance incentives available after first contract
